Brand Communication Strategy - Kübler Absinthe

Val de Travers, Switzerland

● The Val de Travers is recognized as the birthplace of Absinthe - believed to have been first created by “Mere Henriod” in the 18th century. ● Resting on the border of Switzerland and France, there is strong French influence in the Val de Travers - which also explains the popularized French adoption of the spirit during Phylloxera & the wine blight of France. ● The first commercial Absinthe distillery was opened in 1798 by Major Dubois in the village of Couvet in the Val de Travers. These original styles of Absinthe were not green, but instead clear, “Blanche” or “La Bleue” ● In present day, the Val de Travers is primarily Agricultural - 42.4% of the region used for Agricultural purposes, 50.6% forested, 6% is settled with villages/buildings/roads, .5% rivers or lakes, and .3% considered unproductive land.
