BRANDY ARMAGNAC /
COQUEREL FRANCE, NORMANDY Since 1937, Manoir du Coquerel has been producing AOC Certified Calvados in Normandy from a variety of different apples grown on their estate, as well as on neighboring farms that they have been working with for several decades. Calvados Coquerel Fine VS 80PF / 375ML / 700ML Made with naturally fermented, then distilled apple cider. Aged for 2 years in French Oak Barrels. Calvados Coquerel 4yr Bourbon Finish 80PF / 750ML Aged for 4 to 8 years in fine French Oak barrels, then finished for 14 months in fresh bourbon barrels. Calvados Coquerel VSOP 80PF / 700ML A VSOP known for its fruity, floral aromas resulting from a blend of Calvados aged a minimum of four years. Slightly ambered tints with mahogany glints. A complex nose opening on candied fruits and gingerbread notes evolving towards wood and vanilla scents. Calvados Coquerel XO 80PF / 700ML A soft, rich and fruity Calvados made with spirit aged between eight and fifteen years in oak. For the first part of its maturation, Coquerel XO is rested in new oak barrels, before being transferred into smaller old barrels which give the spirit its smoothness. HUARD FRANCE The Huard family has lived on the Le Pertyer property for seven generations, with Jean-Francois Guillouet recently taking over. Like Camut and Lemorton are revered in their regions, Huard is considered the most admired property in AOC Calvados.
ADRIEN CAMUT FRANCE, NORMANDY Since the 1800s, the Camut family has grown apple trees in the Pays d’Auge, the finest growing region in Calvados. In Normandy, 800 types of apples are grown; the Camut family grows about 25 of these, all of which are hand-harvested at optimum maturity between October and mid-December. ALLOCATED – LTD QUANTITIES – YEARLY RELEASE Adrien Camut Calvados 6yr 86PF / 750ML Aromas of green apple and caramel. Impressive viscosity for a relatively young (hors d’age) spirit. Long finish reminiscent of initial aromas. Adrien Camut Calvados 12yr 82PF / 750ML Forward aromas of baked apple, honey, cream, spice. Layered notes of smoky green apple in mouth. Displays plenty of depth for its relatively young age. Long, pure finish. Adrien Camut Calvados 18yr 82PF / 750ML Melted toffee along with subdued notes of spiced apple and honey. Lovely round mouthfeel, with just a finishing touch of smoke and floral notes. Adrien Camut Pommeau de Normandie 34PF / 750ML Pommeau de Normandie is a name denoting a regulated French category of spirit. Though the Camut family is known for its exceptional Pays d’Auge distillates, their property has never had enough stone in the soil to qualify for Pommeau de Normandie status. Now, Emmanuel Camut, looking to experiment, has created his own interpretation of the family’s Apéritif Normand, bottled under his own name and Pomegranate and lemon on the nose transition to a palate of delectable rancio and minerality with hints of rosemary sap and brûléed sugar. A long finish offers haunting tannin with notes of peat and prune. Adrien Camut Calvados Pays d’Auge 25 Year Reserve de Semainville 80PF / 750ML Adrien Camut, a benchmark producer in the Pays d’Auge, crafts Réserve de Semainville from apples grown on the family estate. Distilled in traditional copper stills, this Calvados is aged for 25 years in old oak casks, developing remarkable depth and finesse while retaining orchard fruit character. Rich and complex, it’s ideal for contemplative sipping after a meal or pairing with apple tarts, roasted nuts, or aged cheeses. available to the US market for the first time. Adrien Camut Calvados ‘Prestige’ 80PF / 750ML
ALLOCATED – LTD QUANTITIES – YEARLY RELEASE Huard Hors d’Age Pertyer Calvados 80PF / 750ML
Pinning down the term hors d’age is a moving target, but this bottling by Michel Huard stands at the older end, with a minimum of 10-year-old spirits, along with a significant percentage that is more than 25 years old. Golden-colored, it opens with a gorgeous, old-time nose - rustic in the best
sense of the word. 95pts Vinous 2018
