It was shut down in December 1919 due to the onset of federal Prohibition. and reestablished in 2014 by co-founders Andy Rieger and Ryan Maybee. Rieger’s Kansas City Whiskey 92PF / 750ML / 375ML A blend of Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Light Corn Whiskey, and Straight Rye Whiskey, all aged at least 4 years, as well as a small amount of 15-year-old Oloroso Sherry from the Williams & Humbert Bodega in Jerez. Rieger KU National Championship Bourbon 86PF / 750ML The Limited Edition 2022 National Championship Bourbon was produced by J. Rieger & Co. in partnership with the University of Kansas. This Bourbon was distilled at J. Rieger & Co. from a mash bill of corn, rye, and malted barley. This Straight Bourbon is a marriage of hand-picked barrels from some of our earliest distillations, dating back to 2016, that were selected specifically to commemorate KU’s 2022 National Championship win.

The Decanter bottle is a recreation of a historic bottle produced at our distillery in 1945. It was designed to highlight the rich color of the whiskies we produce due to our lower barrel entry proof and use of the finest cooperage.
