● R.L. Seale & Co. dates back to 1926, predating the Foursquare Rum Distillery by 70 years. Although the Seale family have been blending rum dating back to the 1820s, 1926 designates the shift when they launched their own rum blending operation - named after its founder, Reginald Leon Seale. ● Rum blending was very much the standard in the 1920’s, at the time, many of the distilleries on the island did not produce their own bottlings, but rather sold in bulk to blenders - who then marketed and sold their custom blends. As such, blending is very much the art, and tradition of the Seale family. ● R.L. Seale & Co is still run and owned by the Seale family, currently helmed by Mr. Richard Seale - the fourth generation in the family business.
