Cape Classics, founded in 1992, is the largest importer of South African wines to the United States. They also import French wines. GLENELLY Glenelly, founded by May-Eliane de Lencquesaing (former owner of Bordeaux’s Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande), brings a French winemaking philosophy to the Stellenbosch terroir.
AUVIGUE Vins Auvigue is a family-run winery located in the Mâconnais region of Burgundy, specializing in Pouilly Fuissé and Mâconnais whites.
Situated in the Simonsberg Mountains, the estate’s microclimate and granite/clay soils produce elegant, balanced, and food-friendly wines. Glenelly practices minimal intervention, using techniques like hand harvesting and natural yeast fermentation, and ages their wines in French oak to express the terroir. BELLINGHAM Bellingham, one of South Africa’s oldest wine estates, has a history dating back to 1693 when it was founded by Gerrit Janz van Vuuren and his French Huguenot wife.
Located in the Franschhoek Valley, Bellingham has a legacy of innovation within the South African wine industry. They were the first to release a Cape Rosé in 1949 and a single varietal Shiraz in 1956. Bellingham’s winemaking philosophy is centered on reflecting the unique terroir of its vineyards, which are located in various regions including Stellenbosch, Durbanville, Paarl, and Swartland. The brand focuses on producing contemporary, structured wines with a distinct sense of place. This is achieved through a minimalist winemaking approach, subtle oak maturation, and a commitment to preserving the natural characteristics of each grape variety. As a member of the Old Vine Project, Bellingham is also dedicated to preserving South Africa’s ancient vineyards.
BOSCHENDAL Boschendal is one of South Africa’s oldest wine farms, founded in 1685. The original farmstead is national monument, located in as historic South African wine estate.
