Riquewihr’s vineyards sit on one of the principal geo logical fractures in Alsace. The vast mosaic of soils and subsoils (marl, limestone, gypsum, clay, sand stone) allow multiple expressions of terroir in the wines. It is for this reason that five A.O.C. Alsace wines are produced, made from Riesling, Gewurztra miner, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, as well as Muscat.
