T he Drappier estate was established in 1808 in Urville, in the Aube region, and is current ly managed by 3 generations of the family. While André Drappier keeps a close eye over the vine yard, his 3 grandchildren Charline, Hugo and Antoine have joined Michel and his wife Sylvie to work the fam ily business.

The vineyard spans over 65 hectares (160.6 acres) of land owned by the estate, and 70 hectares (173 acres) in contractual arrangements, growing 65 hectares organical ly. The Pinot Noir represents 70% of the estate, supple mented by Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay, and old grape varieties such as Fromenteau, Petit Meslier, Arbanne and Blanc Vrai. The family has stepped up its sustainable approach to viticulture, by growing 15 hectares (37 acres) organically, using horses for vineyard farming, and by getting the accreditation of “Carbon Neutral”.
