WHISKY SCOTCH – SINGLE MALT

SPRINGBANK SCOTLAND, CAMPBELTOWN Springbank Distillery is the oldest independent, family-owned distillery in Scotland. Legal distillation began in 1828. The chairman is Hedley Wright, the great, great grandson of John Mitchell, the first legal distiller of Springbank whiskey. There are few Scottish distilleries that still malt their own barely, but Springbank is the only distillery which malts 100% of its own barley, using traditional floor malting. The whole production process: malting, milling, mashing, fermentation, distillation, maturation, and bottling, happens on one site in Campbeltown. This is unique in Scotland. Springbank Local Barley Cask Strength 111.2PF / 750ML 100% Sherry casks | Belgravia Barley | Glencraigs Farm The Local Barley Series is one of our most highly anticipated. Initially planned to be a series of just five bottlings, due to its popularity we plan to keep this as part of the Springbank range as an annual limited release. Each year, we use different barley varieties, grown by different local farmers and up until now either matured fully in bourbon or mainly bourbon with some sherry influence. Springbank 10yr Single Malt Barley Scotch 92PF / 700ML Springbank 10-year-old offers whisky drinkers the perfect introduction to the Springbank range. Matured in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, it is perfectly balanced from the first sip to the rich finish. Fresh orchard fruit, orange zest, heather and honey combine with malt and vanilla notes on the nose. Equal measures of complexity and robustness on the palate with an oily mouth feel and plenty of spice, pepper, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Sweet, salted caramel, toffee and drying peat prolong to round off this signature malt. Springbank 12yr Cask Strength 113PF/ 750ML 70% sherry, 30% bourbon casks. This cask strength whisky packs a lot of signature Springbank characteristics in from start to finish. The peat smoke is immediately present and very welcome with a lovely ashiness. Aromas of bruised apples, mahogany, and tobacco leaves. There is a candied sweetness with notes of glazed red cherries, and sugar-coated cola cubes. Springbank 15yr Single Malt Scotch Whisky 92PF / 700ML 100% sherry casks. Springbank’s gentle giant. This dram is big and bold with notes of cured meat, barbecued beef jerky, clove, mint, iodine, oxo cube and tinned prunes all evident from the Oloroso cask maturation, while lobster creels hint at Springbank’s characteristic maritime influence. Springbank 18yr Single Malt Scotch Whisky 92PF / 700ML 60% sherry, 40% bourbon casks. Elegant with a light briny overtone expected of a Campbeltown dram. Fresh doughy pretzels, almonds, vanilla, shortbread, a touch of sherbet and marzipan. Gentle and refined. Milk chocolate and vanilla notes are prominent alongside caramel, barely sugar, apple crumble and bung cloth. A lasting finish with dried peat, licorice, smoky fruit, raisins, butterscotch, and pencil shavings.

Springbank 21yr Single Malt Scotch Whisky 92PF / 700ML

70% rum, 30% bourbon casks. A burst of heather and freshly mowed grass on the nose is followed by honey, pear skin, wood shavings and hints of butter. Vanilla, sugar cane and molasses develop as the influence from the rum cask engulfs the palate with apricots, peaches and paprika. A soft smokey finish with peppercorn, almonds and apricot jam are prominent. Springbank 25yr 92PF / 750ML 60% sherry, 40% rum casks. A nose of Parma violets and rhubarb followed by barbecued meats, tropical fruits, and oloroso sherry notes. Maturity and complexity at its best. A perfect balance of sherry and rum casks married in harmony. As it breathes; cured meat notes with a presence of tropical fruits and muscat wine. Oh yes, it’s definitely a true Springbank with coastal, musty dunnage warehouse notes, with sugary molasses in the finish. Springbank 11yr Local Barley Single Malt 110.2PF / 700ML This eleven-year-old single malt expression is made with Bere Barley from local Aros Farm. Mature in ex-bourbon casks. Marmalade and honey on the nose with minerality and baked bread. Creamy and sweet on the palate with custard and honeycomb. Nutty finish. The Work of Human Hands...
