POLI DISTILLERIA ITALY, VENETO Poli Vermouth Bianco Gran Bassano 36PF / 750ML
The original aromatic identity of Gran Bassano Bianco is due to a balanced infusion of over twenty botanicals, including hawthorn and elderflower, native plants from Bassano area, as well as grapefruit, galangal, myrtle, sweet and bitter orange. Vespaiolo grapes are the base for this vermouth. The grape features characteristic floral scents that attract
the wasps (vespa), from which it is named. Poli Vermouth Rosso Gran Bassano 36PF / 750ML
The unique aromatic structure of Gran Bassano Rosso is the result of a masterly infusion of over twenty botanicals, among which stand out the holy thistle and the yarrow moscata, native plants from Bassano area, as well as rhubarb, vanilla, pimento, ginger, and liquorice. Gran Bassano Rosso is a vermouth based on Merlot, red wine from French grape variety cultivated since the end of the 19th century in the DOC area of which the city of Bassano is part.
Fortified Wine has had distilled spirit added to increase ABV and preserve it. Port, Sherry, and Madeira are the most common examples. Aromatized wine is fortified wine that has been infused with herbs and botanicals. Most aromatized wines have a prominent bitter element to balance their natural sweetness.
Wormwood is the backbone botanical for vermouth. Even the name “vermouth” is derived from the “wermut” infused German wines that came before it. Cinchona bark is the source of quinine, which most people are used to as a flavor component in their tonic water. Aromatized wines with quinine are commonly known as quinquina or chinato. Gentian root or flower is most commonly seen in Americano style aromatized wines. It’s also used commonly in many aperitivo liqueurs.
