CAZCANES TEQUILA MEXICO, JALISCO Cazcanes Tequila is named after the Caxcan ― the last indigenous Mexicans to be conquered by the Spaniards. Their lineup of tequila is based on an old recipe found in a moonshine still in the jungle. It’s crafted with traditional methods, using artesian well water from deep underground and ripe blue Weber agaves that grow in volcanic soil. After the agave hearts are cooked and crushed, they are left to ferment naturally. Then, the juice is distilled using alembic stills. Artenom Seleccion de 1123 Blanco 86PF / 375ML / 750ML
This expression recreates a once popular style of high end blanco tequilas, where lower brix, less stressed agave from the nutrient rich Tequila Valley predominated. The top end of these tequilas is barrel-conditioned for 35 to 40 days - just enough to soften the lowland peppery vigor. This Historic tequila is barrel condition for 35 days in Pedro Domecq brandy casks that previously held Don Amado Reposado Mezcal.
