TENUTA SAN GIORGIO 2015 was a year of brilliant ripening for Sangiovese in Montalcino. Refreshing rains in August and high diurnal temperature variations were perfect for the development of outstanding aromatic concentration and the smooth maturation of tannins in the skins of the Sangiovese. Grapes were harvested under optimal conditions during the first half of September. This unusually early harvest helped us maintain freshness and acidity from a variety of vineyard elevations. POGGIO DI SOTTO 2015 will be recorded as one of the best for Brunello di Montalcino in the last decade. This is thanks to the generous rains that fell in the middle of June and the end of July that rebalanced the vineyards and relieved the Sangiovese grapes from the hot summer days.
