Double Canyon’s core mission is to produce exceptional Washington State Cabernet Sauvignon, driven by the unique terroir of the Horse Heaven Hills AVA. The winery owns the 90-acre Double Canyon Vineyard, named for the two ravines crossing the property. The vineyard’s location, influenced by volcanic activity, glacial deposits, and wind, contributes significantly to the wines’ character. Located near the Columbia River, the vineyard experiences sweeping winds and other distinctive weather patterns that protect the vines and contribute to the area’s dry desert landscape. The vineyard is planted densely to concentrate resources into fewer, higher-quality grape clusters. Their flagship wines are Cabernet Sauvignon, often blended with other varietals like Petit Verdot or Syrah in small percentages to enhance the final product.
