J oseph Drouhin founded the wine company in 1880 in Beaune, and it is still family-run four generations later by his great grandchildren, Philippe, Véronique, Laurent and Frédéric. Each of them holds key and complementary positions to sustain and expand the family business. With 100 hectares (248 acres), Domaine Joseph Drouhin is currently one of the largest estates in the region, with more than two thirds of the vineyards classified as Premier and Grand Crus. It is spread across the entire Burgundy wine region: Chablis, Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune, Côte Chalonnaise, and Mâconnais. The es tate comprises mainly Grand Crus and Premier Crus, planted with the two iconic Burgundian grape varieties: Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. For certain appellations, Domaine Joseph Drouhin complements its supply by working with long-standing partner winemakers who share their exacting standards.
