La Solitude comprises 37 Hectares (91.4 acres) in AOC Chateauneuf du Pape, in terroirs of safre and rounded pebbles. The estate begins on the Plateau de la Crau, the high terrasses overlooking the Rhone River and descends into the Valley de la Solitude. The vineyard is tended according to or ganic farming principles. The grape types reflect the history of Chateauneuf du Pape since the thirteen traditional varietals are grown in the vineyard. Here, in an envi ronment in which every living thing has a role to play: the wildlife and natural vege tation, the vines, and the people.
