Nippitaty distills two batches utilizing these botanicals, the first a brighter “citrus and spice” batch and the second a richer “earthier” batch. The two are then blended together to create one smooth, complex spirit with layers of citrus, cardamom, and cucumber.

Pot distilled from a rye base, giving it a lot of character, then barrel aged, lending it its copper tone. It’s almost like a cross between rye whiskey and gin. If you like your spirits to have some character, then this is definitely worth a try. PINE BARRENS LONG ISLAND, NY Barrel Reserve Botanical Dry Gin #680546 / 750ml / $31.33

This is a botanical dry gin made from local estate grown Long Island potatoes that been triple distilled, infused with 28 local and exotic botanicals, then finished in Rough Rider/Pine Barrens whisky barrels. Knowing that we have the finest wines to distill, we had a fantastic foundation to make something extraordinary. We’ve been growing our own Juniper since 1996, so making gin seemed the natural thing to do. With careful attention, we set out to use only the best ingredients and day-by-day, added to the blend to create a luxurious, pure gin. We also use small amounts of seeds from Anise, Fennel, Coriander, Cumin, and Cardamom; along with Ginger and lime zest.
