For 1794, maturation is entirely in this lively new oak, creating exciting flavours and aromas to fire the imagination and senses.

An approachable blend, showing smokey depth as well as light fruit and fragrant barley. Produced by The Character of Islay Whisky Company (they also produced the Aerolite Lyndsay Islay malt.) This expression is named after early descriptions of Islay, as well as from the title of Neil Gunn’s book The Green Isle of the Great Deep, which talks of an island off the west coast of Scotland, accessible only though a whirlpool. That Boutique-y Whiskey Co. Darkness 8YO 95.6PF / 700ML Darkness starts as a powerful Speyside single malt spirit chosen for its boldness and character. After 8 years quietly resting in ex-bourbon casks, the spirit is deemed ready to begin its final transformation into the 6 additional months of extra maturation in hand coopered sherry cask octaves.
