Brandy – Armagnac BRANDY ARMAGNAC

Darroze les Grands Assemblages Masterly blends: For several generations, the Darroze family has scoured Gascony in the Grands Crus center of the Bas Armagnac region. Thousands of centuries old treasures are held in stock at the Darroze house. This diversity in the crus, the years, the grape varieties, and the styles has allowed Marc Darroze to work on this range known as “Les Grands Assemblages” (The Great Blends). Chosen for their complementary characteristics, the selected Armagnacs in each blend are different ages. Each age on the bottle indicates the age of the youngest Armagnac in the blend. A varied aromatic palette evolves naturally over the years. You can discover this evolution in each blend. Many years of aging in 400-liter oak barrels have given the oiliness and roundness to the tannins so that each “Grand Assemblage” reveals its own proper balance between the alcohol, the aromas, and the tannins. Darroze Grand Assemblages 8yr 86PF / 750ML An 8-year-old Armagnac from Darroze in the Bas Armagnac region for their Grand Assemblage series, which features the spirit bottled at different ages at around 43% abv (some of the older expressions come in at 42%). At 8 years old, this blend is packed with citrus peels, dried fruits, quince jam and just a smidgen of wood. Darroze Grand Assemblages 12yr 86PF / 750ML The 12-year-old member of the Darroze Grand Assemblage series is a vibrant, zesty blended Bas-Armagnac. Still featuring the fruity notes from the 8-year-old, it’s started to develop lovely little hints of cinnamon and liquorice. Darroze Grand Assemblages 20yr 86PF / 750ML The 20-year-old chapter of the Darroze Grands Assemblages range of Bas-Armagnac. After this moderately long maturation, the spirit still has plenty of youthful vibrancy, though age is starting to show through refined tannins and sweetly warming notes throughout. Darroze Grand Assemblages 30yr 86PF / 750ML The Darroze Grands Assemblages 30yr range of Bas-Armagnac is composed of almost 100% Baco. After long maturation, the spirit showcases the rich quality of natural reduction in barrel. Darroze Grand Assemblages 40yr 86PF / 750ML The 40-year-old Bas-Armagnac from the Darroze ‘Les Grands Assemblages’ range, which spans decades and decades. At 40 years old, the oak ageing has had quite an effect on the eaux-de-vie, with lashings of rich, woody notes alongside plenty of rancio. Darroze Grand Assemblages 50yr 84PF / 750ML The age of reason. According to the freshness and the balance of Armagnacs of this age, it is sometimes time, at the end of 50 years to stop the barrel ageing. However, the use of barrels that have been exhausted of their tannins over many years in contact with the eau de vie is still possible. The aromas of chocolate, leather and roasted notes are characteristic of these very old eaux de vie. Darroze Grand Assemblages 60yr 84PF / 750ML Eternal ... A 60-year-old Armagnac is eternal. It is rare to find an eaux de vie that continues to express character after so many years. This blend is the result of a long, delicate selection, preserving only those Armagnacs that have travelled through time without one single wrinkle.

BAS ARMAGNAC FRANCIS DARROZE GASCONY, FRANCE Francis Darroze—initiated by his father Jean Darroze, famous chef from Villeneuve de Marsan—and his son Marc, roam the estates on the best terroirs, to select, cultivate and bottle the most beautiful discoveries. Around forty estates contribute to this extraordinary collection that complete and perfect their ageing in the Roquefort cellars. Rare and ancient barrels, or eaux-de-vies from the alambic from a small property, distilled by a reputed mobile distiller and that require several decades of subtle and careful ageing in oak barrels for them to express the qualities of the place and the vintage. Darroze la Collection Unique Our profession: Artisan-Maturer For years now we’ve been happy to bring you a UNIQUE COLLECTION of vintage Armagnacs, produced exclusively on the best estates in the Bas Armagnac. In this Unique Collection, we refuse to blend Armagnacs from different estates or different vintages. The name of the estate, year of production and bottling date are indicated on each bottle. We do not add water to our Armagnacs to reduce the degree of alcohol. Our Armagnacs come For years, Mr. Bachala was a lion tamer in the Zavatta circus before turning his hand to Armagnac production in the late ’70s. Humid conditions in his ageing cellars contribute to his Armagnacs have a lower alcohol level. Darroze Domaine de Poutéou Vintage 2000 100PF / 750ML Three brothers, from the well-known Tarbes family, in the village of Lannemaignan, currently run this large estate. These armagnacs are like them—intense, complex, rugged yet gentle. Darroze Domaine au Martin Vintage 1992 95.6PF / 750ML Guy deyres worked in the Bas Armagnac region for almost 40 years before passing on his passion for and the secrets of his craft to his son Jean-Luc, the current owner of Domaine de Rieston and Domaine Au Martin, with its sandy soils and baco grapes, is in the ‘magical’ Grand Bas Armagnac sector and we consider Nice golden color with red tints. The nose is very seductive thanks to the aromas like candied fruits, chocolate, brown tobacco, and licorice. Superb. The palate is rich, also very complex in aromas: orange peel, prune, cinnamon, pepper. The tannins are very delicate. Very long finish. Darroze Château de Lahitte Vintage 1986 95PF / 750ML Amber color, brilliant. A rustic but very elegant nose. Typical Aromas of an Armagnac of this age: licorice, leather, cinnamon, cloves, toast. On the palate, the balance of alcohol, tannins and aromas is magnificent. The aromas of candied fruit, English candy, and gingerbread never end. Darroze Domaine de la Poste Vintage 1975 95.8PF / 750ML Much of the distillation at Domaine de La Poste in Tenareze was carried out in the 70s, which is why we propose several vintages from that period: all different, but all retaining that special character, due to both the terroir and the Faget family savoir-faire. Darroze Château de Gaube Vintage 1972 90PF / 750ML After leaving Algeria, the Morel family took over the Chateau de Gaube. From 1956, they produced elegant, sophisticated armagnacs. M. Morel personally selected the oak used to make large vats in which their Armagnac aged for 40+ years. The baco grape is the favoured grape at Chateau de Gaube, producing spectacular armagnacs year after year. straight from the cask and are bottled with the original degree. Darroze Domaine de Monturon Vintage 2004 99PF / 750ML ourselves lucky to exclusively present its Armagnacs. Darroze Château de Lahitte Vintage 1982 95.6PF / 750ML

Darroze le Luxe Gascon Finesse, authenticity, rarity, elegance are all words that characterize these Armagnacs presented in crystal decanters, specially produced to showcase these exceptional products. Each batch is unique (only a few bottles), each decanter is numbered and accompanied by a certificate attesting to the origin and respect of all the stages of aging, bearing witness to this The Gascony region, bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, the Pyrenees mountains, and the Garonne River, has always maintained a specific way of life, based on a heritage several centuries old. ARMAGNAC remains of course the perfect ambassador of this respected tradition. For more than 700 years, winemakers, distillers, coopers, winegrowers, and cellarmasters have conferred on Armagnac the nobility that we know so well today. Luxury in Gascony and Armagnac is fuelled by values anchored in sharing, transmission, respect for the artisanal product, a high level of expectation and excellence. It is with this firmly in mind that the DARROZE armagnac house refines its armagnacs, which come from the finest terroirs of the appellation. From generation to generation, old Armagnacs are conserved and treasured in the cellars, in Dame-Jeannes (large 30 to 50 litre glass bottles). Wonderful Armagnacs, as rare as they are full of history. Marc Darroze, driven by the values of authenticity and excellence, wished to highlight some of these hidden treasures in this limited series entitled ‘Luxe Gascon’. Luxury in Gascony is represented by this ability that producers and winegrowers must keep Armagnacs for decades. A distinctive form of luxury.
