TELLUS | Umbria
Table 19
The Tellus name stems from the ancient Roman goddess of the earth. Tellus was commonly recognized in 1st century depictions as a symbol of agricultural abundance. Led by the next generation, Enrica, Dominga and Marta, Tellus is a tribute to the feminine energy they bring to the modern wines produced from the Umbrian property. The labels were created at an event in Rome’s iconic Castel Sant’Angelo where young Italian artists were paired with passionate wine lovers to visually interpret the energy and expression found in each Tellus varietal. The brand’s philosophy and winemaking, led by Ricardo Cotarella, breaks tradition by planting international varietals and focuses on expressing the terroir of Umbria. Sourced fromvineyards in Montecchio andMontefiascone of the Cotarella’s family Umbrian estate, these wines have been recognized as “Best in Class” offerings.
