CAROSO | Abruzzo
Table 23
Caroso is an important project to the identity of Codice Citra. This is a singular wine from a singular place—a Riserva bottling of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo that captures an elegance and finesse rarely associated with this often undervalued and under-explored portion of the Italian peninsula. The name Caroso is derived from the Italian, “Caro,” meaning elegant, rich and valued. It is sourced from a selection of exceptionally old vines (more than 55 yrs) planted on a series undulating hillsides that overlook the sparkling Adriatic. This is a truly unique corner of the world and it produces a truly unique and refined wine.
