San Giorgio

San Giorgio was founded in 1982, located in Castelnuovo dell’Abate in the south-eastern part of Montalcino in a unique location, at 1,300 ft. above sea level on the top of a ridge. The vines cover 24 hectares and there are 26 hectares of olive groves. The winery is located near Castelnuovo dell’Abate in the municipality of Montalcino, not far from the Sant’Antimo abbey. San Giorgio has very old Sangiovese vines that give the wines a style very similar to Poggio di Sotto family.

The winery has been part of the ColleMassari Group since 2016.

Ciampoleto Rosso di Montalcino DOC The name “Ciampoleto” is an old term that was used to describe unique hillsides used for farming in the agricultural areas surrounding Siena. This wine is produced from 10-15-year-old vineyards, located between 800 and 1,300 ft. above sea level. The climate is mild and Mediterranean with nearly constant winds. A viticulture totally based on methods and principles that are respectful to the environment allows a yield of about 4 tons per hectare of grapes, completely harvest by hand and carefully selected.

Ugolforte Brunello di Montalcino DOCG The wine is named “Ugolforte” after well-known bandit from the 12th century who lead the rebellion of Montalcino’s people against the government in Siena. This wine is produced from 15 – 20-year-old vineyards, located between 800 and 1,300 ft. above sea level. The climate is mild and Mediterranean with nearly constant winds. A viticulture totally based on methods and principles that are respectful to the environment allows a yield of about 4 tons per hectare of grapes, completely harvest by hand and carefully selected.
