Bera

For over 100 years, the Bera family has demonstrated their rich knowledge of the Langhe area, initially growing and supplying grapes to prominent wineries of the Piemonte region and eventually crafting renowned artisanal wines of their own. Located in Neviglie, a small village in close proximity to the prime soil of Barbaresco, this gem of a winery may be difficult to find but well worth the search. With a range of offerings that includes a lively Asti Spumante, a vibrant Brachetto, and a positively decadent Moscato d’Asti, the Bera family is dedicated to producing the highest expression of Piedmontese wines. With deep roots in Piemonte’s winemaking history, the Bera family began vinification and bottling of their own label in 1979, shortly after current owner and head winemaker Valter Bera graduated from the Enological School of Alba.

Asti Spumante DOCG This spumante is made from 100% Moscato grapes from the Galombo vineyard, located in Neviglie. The production method is traditional, but uses a modern approach where the wine is fermented for fifteen days using the Charmat method, after which it undergoes a brief aging period in stainless steel.

Barbera d’Alba Superiore La Lena DOC The wine is made from 100% Barbera sourced from the La Lena vineyard in Neviglie. The name “La Lena” comes from the name Elena and pays tribute to the grandmother and sister of the owner Mr. Valter Bera, who are both named Elena.

Brachetto Piemonte DOC Bera Brachetto is made from the aromatic red variety of the same name. This frizzante undergoes fermentation using the Charmat method and is macerated with the skins for about six hours. The result is an alluring rosy colored wine with delicate bubbles and buoyantly fruity notes.

Moscato d’Asti DOCG Made from the highly aromatic Moscato grape, this classic Piedmontese sparkler is produced using the Charmat method. Fresh and fruity, this dessert-style wine is always best enjoyed very soon after release.
