Golden Moon Distillery

Golden Moon Distillery was founded by Stephen Gould and Karen Knight in early 2008 specifically to produce premium hand- crafted herbal liquors and liqueurs. They use the best available herbs, spices and botanicals, made with the same type of artisan production processes utilized by distillers making premium products in the mid-to-late 1800s. Golden Moon, Dry Curacao Dry Curacao is distilled using Curacao orange peel. They add a touch of saffron and lightly oak age the liqueur giving it both a wonderful color and a smooth flavor. This makes Golden Moon Dry Curacao a great cocktail ingredient that can also be enjoyed neat or over ice.  Golden Moon, Crème de Violette Crème de Violette is distilled using the finest hand-selected botanicals available, including blue violet flowers and buds. They bottle their product at 30% abv, higher than any other similar product on the market. They use less sugar than any other similar product on the market as well, typically about one fourth as much. They believe that the combination of a higher proof and less sugar allows for a cleaner, fresher taste, and a wonderful classic cocktail ingredient that can also be enjoyed by itself. In Scotland, Kümmel is known as the “Putting Mixture” and it is a favorite spirit of the members of some of the oldest and most famous golf clubs in the country. It is rumored that more Kümmel is consumed in the club houses of St. Andrews, Prestwick and Muirfield golf clubs than any other place in the world.
