Quinta de la Rosa
Porto e Douro, Portugal (Winesellers Ltd)
Run by Sophia and Tim Bergqvist, daughter and father, and ably assisted by Sophia’s brother, Phillip, Quinta de la Rosa has been in the family for over 100 years. In 1988 Sophia and her father, Tim Bergqvist, decided to restart the family business and launched Quinta de la Rosa, a top-quality port producer. All their wines and ports are estate grown, estate produced and estate bottled. All vineyards are A-graded. Quinta de la Rosa, Late Bottle Vintage 2011 Foot trodden and unfiltered, adding great depth and complexity, then bottled from large barrels four years after harvest. Quinta de la Rosa, Lote 601 Ruby Port Juicy and fresh-tasting, offering crisp, lively flavors of currant, red plum and spice. The spice finish is subtle and sweet, with hints of mild chocolate. Quinta de la Rosa, Tawny A unique younger tawny blend from 100% estate grapes and then rapidly aged in smaller 500L old oak pipes giving it a complexity and concentration not often seen in its category of wines. Quinta de la Rosa, Ten Year Tawny - Tonel 12 Peppery overtones to the dried white fruit and spice flavors. Chocolate and mincemeat notes mark the long finish.

FORTIFIED WINE
Quinta de la Rosa, 20 Year Tawny A blend of ports with an average age of 20 years. Every year the grapes are picked by hand, trodden by foot in granite lagares. They reserve some of the best quality port and use this to make the 10 and 20 year old tawny blends. Quinta de la Rosa, White Port An aperitif wine, a beautiful amber/honey color, shows excellent fruit on the palate, but at the same time has a long relatively dry finish.
