France Rhone Valley

History • The oldest document that shows wine was produced at Château de Campuget dates back to 1753. • The Dalle family acquired Château de Campuget in 1942 after Mr. Dalle was wounded during WWII. • Franck-Lin Dalle is the 3rd generation in charge of the production today. • Located in the AOP Costières de Nîmes • It is the southernmost appellation in the Rhône Valley, 10 miles south of the roman city of Nîmes • 168 hectares of vines • Soil: large pebbles (galets) similar to Châteauneuf-du-Pape • Great influence of the Mistral, a wind that dries the grapes and protects from mildew. • Average age of the vines: 25 years old • Reds and rose: mostly planted with Syrah and Grenache rouge • Whites: mostly Grenache Blanc and Roussanne Vineyards / Winemaking

Our wines are made 100% with estate fruit. Vin de France means that we don’t have to follow the rules set by the AOC or IGP. We don’t like to be locked into some of the AOP rules. We love freedom! In addition, the AOP requires we make blends and we like to work with 100% of one varietal. Finally, we have varietals not allowed by the AOP: Saperavi, for example

Campuget 1753 Syrah Sans Soufre 2021 100% Syrah - Essentially our finest Syrah. The tannins are elegant and round giving a velvety sensation. They offer a very elegant and long finish. Campuget 1753 Grenache Sans Soufre 2021 100% Grenache This wine is very complex. The robe is deep ruby. The nose is on the red fruit (cherry) mixed with spicy notes.

Campuget La Sommeliere 2017 100% Syrah - From the chateau’s best vines. It represents the quintessence of their production and the best expression of the terroir. After being made traditionally, the wine is matured for twelve months, half in new wooden barrels and the other half in “demimuids.” The wine is bottled at the Château. Tasting Notes: It’s very expressive scented bouquet exhales the strong aromas of red and black fruits with notes of vanilla. In the mouth, its structure is concentrated but round. Its very persistent fruitiness leaves an impression of powerfulness which denotes its great potential.
