Rochelt Apple Brandy 375ml / 100PF

The Gravenstein apple is a juicy, highly aromatic apple of outstanding quality. Every apple stays on the tree until it is fully ripe. We make multiple passes through the orchard and pick only those apples which meet out strict criteria. At the end of each day, the freshly harvested apples are mashed on-site to ensure absolute freshness. Matured in glass for 12 years. Rochelt Elderberry Brandy 375ml / 100PF Our black elderberries are cultivated in Lower Austria, where they grow naturally under ideal conditions without the use of any pesticides. One liter of fruit brandy requires up to 55kg (120 pounds) of berries, as the naturally low sugar of the black elderberry content limits the amount of alcohol that can be produced. Over time the distillate matures into a fine, multi-layered fruit brandy full of smooth, rich and aromatic elderberry flavors with a hint of dark chocolate. Matured in glass for 16 years. Rochelt Quince Brandy 375ml / 100PF Our quince is called “Ronda” and comes from Upper Austria. It is pear shaped and has a felt-like yellow/gold skin when fully ripe. Rochelt Morello Cherry Brandy 375ml / 100PF Each cherry is picked by hand only when it has achieved the optimal sweet-sour balance – a lot of work for our grower but essential to guarantee that only fully ripe fruits are turned into mash for fermentation. Once distilled and left to mature, our Morello cherry fruit brandy is bursting with fresh, fruity flavors accompanied by a touch of cinnamon and bitter almond. Matured in glass for 15 years. Rochelt Raspberry Brandy 375ml / 100PF Never frozen, pasteurized or pureed, only fresh and flawless berries are processed in our distillery to ensure that none of the rich, intense flavor is lost before distilling. Because of the naturally low levels of sugar in wild raspberries, we need up to 60kg (130 pounds) of fruit to produce just one liter of brandy. Made from pure fruit only, we never add any sugar or alcohol to increase the yield. Matured in glass for 5 years. Every apricot, every pear and all other fruit we use stays on the tree or the bush right up until the point when it reaches its maximum sugar concentration.This approach can take several weeks and demands great patience from us and our fruit growers, for not all fruits of a single variety ripen at the same speed. However, healthy, full-bodied fruit is and remains the only basis for an exquisite brandy, so we are happy to watch and wait. We have known most of our fruit growers for many years and share a common passion for the finest quality. When growing and ripening conditions are poor, we collectively hold our breath. If the crop does not meet our exacting standards, we may decide to make none of a particular variety that year. But in good years there is nothing like the feeling of picking the fruit when it is perfectly ripe and full of flavor. That is the stuff distillers’ dreams are made of. Rochelt Gewürztraminer Brandy 375ml / 100PF Gewürztraminer vines grow on the best sites in the Austrian region of Burgenland, where they produce small quantities of outstanding grapes characterized by their reddish color and intense flavor. The grapes are harvested at the point of perfect ripeness before being transported to the Rochelt distillery to be mashed, fermented and distilled. In contrast to Italian Grappa, we mash the full grapes without vine or stem for fermentation, following an old Tyrolean tradition. This fine brandy is a rare delicacy full of fruity-aromatic grape flavors, rose-petal aromas and a zesty taste on the palate. Matured in glass for 14 years.
